Patrick Albán

Patrick Albán discovered his passion for the acoustic guitar at the age of 10. By age 12, he had already gained recognition as a songwriter, winning awards at the 3rd Annual Christian Festival in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Competing against some of the country's top Christian bands, Patrick earned both 1st and 5th place honors with two of his original compositions.
At age 16, Patrick moved to the United States. Four years later, he attended the prestigious Peabody Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, where he further developed his musical talents and pursued his dream of creating music in both Spanish and English.
Today, Patrick's music is a vibrant blend of Latin rhythms and acoustic rock, infused with salsa and a distinctive South Beach flair. His repertoire spans Brazilian sambas, Cuban son, tangos, boleros, salsa, blues, Gypsy Kings classics, and music inspired by The Buena Vista Social Club. A versatile vocalist, Patrick performs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Gypsy.
Throughout his career, Patrick has collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. In 1997, he released two albums: the Spanish Christian album Tu Canción Señor and the English-language album No More 22's. In October 2001, he released Patrick Albán and Noche Latina, a Latin music project featuring renowned percussionist and vocalist Juan "Cheito" Quiñones, known for his work with The Gloria Estefan Band and The Miami Sound Machine.
In November 2003, Patrick Albán and Noche Latina released a DVD featuring live performances and a documentary about Patrick and the band. A special boxed set containing both the CD and DVD was released simultaneously.
In 2006, Patrick released the highly anticipated album Ojos Verdes, featuring collaborations with acclaimed musicians, including Juan "Cheito" Quiñones and legendary percussionist Edwin Bonilla, internationally recognized for his work with Gloria Estefan, The Miami Sound Machine, and countless world-renowned salsa artists.
Patrick Albán and Noche Latina received nominations from the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) in both 1999 and 2000 for Best Latin Band and Best Latin Vocalist. The band also performed live at the 2000 WAMA Awards Ceremony, an event covered by both The Washington Post and public television.
On April 12, 2000, Patrick and his band performed at the prestigious Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., further solidifying their reputation as one of the region's premier Latin music acts.
In addition to performing, Patrick has worked as a producer for several Baltimore-area artists. One notable collaboration was with Brian Jack, former member of the band Child's Play, on his solo album Collage. Patrick contributed the song "Still Strong," which he later re-recorded and released on his own album No More 22's.
